2005:  Sandy and I live in the upstate of South Carolina. I have been there, practicing urology, since going off active duty in the Army in 1981. Well, not the entire time, since I was lucky enough to get activated along with my hospital unit at the beginning of Gulf War I. I was on active duty for about 9 months, eventually taking the command for my reserve hospital as well as becoming Chief of Surgery for the MEDDAC at Ft. Campbell, KY. I retired out of the Reserves several years ago and, so far, they have not needed me for another go around.

I remain in private practice, along with one other partner, and still enjoy it. We just built a new office, strategically placed just on the other side of the golf course from where we live. Unfortunately, I took up golf late in life and am such a lousy player I may never be able to retire from medicine.

Sandy and I have two grown kids -- both educated, married, and on someone else's payroll. Stephanie graduated from the College of Charleston and is a stay-at-home mom for two of our grandchildren, Abigail (4 years), and Cole (18 mos.). They live in Marietta, GA, just north of Atlanta. Our son, Andy graduated from The Citadel and then went on to get his Ph.D. in Molecular Biology from the Med. Univ. of SC. He and his wife, along with their son Austin (2 years), live in The Woodlands just north of Houston, TX, where he is the head of glaucoma research for Lexicon Genetics.

While we enjoy seeing the kids and grandkids, we also enjoy being empty nesters and spend a lot of time traveling. We look forward to getting back to western NY this summer, since the last time we were there was for the 20th reunion.

2010 Update:  It doesn't seem like it has been five years since the last reunion. I am still in private practice (Urology) in Greer, SC. A second hospital has been built in Greer and I accepted the responsibility of being it's Chief of Staff. The grandkids that I listed in my previous bio are now five years older and we have an addition, Ansleigh, who is now four. Our family is spread out between Atlanta and Houston. My Dad passed away three years ago and we have my mother in an Alzheimer's unit very close to the house.

Sandy and I have done a fair amount of traveling, especially in SE Asia spending time in Viet Nam, Cambodia, Thailand, Burma and Hong Kong. Last weekend we spent our 39th anniversary in Hilton Head. We also spent our honeymoon there, but at that time, there were only two hotels and one restaurant. Things have a habit of changing over that time (except, of course,us).

Even in difficult economic times, our community continues to grow, with Greer being the fastest growing city in the state and 7th in the country.

2015 Update:  Since the last reunion, I have hung up my cystoscope and scrubs and retired from the practice of urology. While I was finished with that, I wasn't quite ready to stop being a doctor and joined a small group practicing geriatrics out of several nursing facilities in the area. For those who do not know what geriatrics means, you will as we are all getting older (this is the one group where we cannot lie about our age). Anyway, it has been a significant learning process and I find it fun and challenging. I work three days a week and try to play golf the other days. I had hoped that, with further time on the course, my game would get better. I have come to the conclusion that I am not going to get any taller, better looking, or play better golf! However, I enjoy the group that I play with and Sandy and I try to get a round in over the weekend. Sandy and I have had a chance to do some travelling over the years and we have made a regular thing to hit a Caribbean resort for a week during the winter. We did a river cruise last September and I have included a picture of Sandy and me in Prague

We are looking forward to the reunion this fall and seeing everybody again.
