I graduated from Catherine McAuley School of Nursing and first worked at Deaconess Hospital in Buffalo. I married Kenneth Marks (see bio here) on September 28, 1968 and we have 2 children - daughter Michelle A. Marks-Hook and son Eric and 2 grandchildren - Zachery, age 5, and Natalie, age 2.

I currently work as a charge nurse at Newfane Rehabilitation Health Care Center, where I have been for nearly 30 years. However, the best 5 years of my life were from 1995-2000 when I also worked at the Amherst Baby & Child Care Center as an infant room leader. I loved taking care of babies from 6 weeks old to 1 ½ years. I guess it was in preparation for grandchildren.

I enjoy attending craft shows and decorating our home in country-primitive style. My favorite hobby: spoiling the grandchildren.

2010 Update:  We're looking forward to the 45th class reunion, since we couldn't make the 40th. Wow, it's been 5 years since we were in California for my nephew's wedding. Surprise, they're still together!

Ken has been dealing with health issues for over two years now, a sign that we're not getting any younger. He has a great neurologist, but even she's stumped as to why he has weakness and numbness in his legs. Last August, he had pneumonia and this past January was admitted to the hospital with heart problems. We deal with each day as it comes. Ken's goal is to return to playing golf again, maybe next season. Ken is semi-retired. He works part-time at a convenience store.

Our daughter, Michelle, works as a career counselor at St. John Fisher College in Rochester. Her husband Dan has his PhD and works at Bausch & Lomb. Our son Eric got married August 1, 2008. We have a new grand-daughter, Ava Jean, born January 23, 2010. She is a peanut, and it's great because now we have three grandchildren, the other two are Zachery, 10, and Natalie, 7, (Michelle and Dan's children). Eric and Amy will be moving soon to Rochester. Eric got a job at Paychexs recently. Of course the kids would love us to retire and move to Rochester also. Who knows?

This past June we took a vacation, and visited my sister and her family in Bluffton, South Carolina. We took my 85-year-old mother to meet her newest great-granddaughter, Sayda. A good time was had by all.

I am still working as a rehab nurse at NRHCC. I celebrated 35 years of employment there this summer. I hope to retire possibly in two years, definitely before the 50th.

2015 Update:  I retired, finally! I figured being a nurse for 47 years was long enough! I tell everyone that I highly recommend retirement. Ken and I enjoy our grandchildren. Zachery, 15, and Natalie, 12, are our daughter Michelle and Dan Hook's children and Ava, 5, and Keegan, 3, our son Eric and Amy's children. We're glad they all live in the Rochester area, so when we need a grandparent fix they're only a short ride. I usually go to Fairport two days in the summer and I take older grandkids to swim practice, dance and music lessons, I'm just a nanny-mobile, but it gives me quality time with them.

I volunteer at CareNet Pregnancy Center. I also enjoy decorating and staging locally.

Ken and I enjoyed working on the 50th class reunion committee with other classmates. Our hope is that this 50th celebration will be the best for making memories!!
