Jean Rhodes
Professionally I'm known as AJ. I began attending college at the age of 32 and became a special education teacher for the Lockport City School District, where I worked for 16 years. After obtaining my administrative certification, I became principal of Middleport Elementary School for 3 years, and enjoyed being apart of the RoyHart community again. I am currently Director of Student Services and Special Education for the Lockport School District. (I'm what you call a late bloomer. Yep, little Jeanie Rhodes.) I have had a very rewarding professional career.
Personally, I am married to my soul mate, Henry (Hank) Stegeman who has been retired for the last 10 years from teaching high school. I have 3 children (Richard, Randi, and Robin), 2 stepsons (John and Daniel), and 10 grandchildren ranging in age from a few months to 17 years old. Even though I have accomplished much professionally, my greatest joy comes from being a grandmother. I take an active role in my grandchildren’s lives and weekends are filled with the “pitter patter” of little feet. When time allows, I enjoy crocheting, sewing, and a variety of crafts. I am still an avid jogger and family camping trips are one of my greatest pleasures. Life has been very good to me.
