I’ve been married to Ron Lasal since August of 1965. We will be celebrating 40 yrs. of marriage this year and are planning a trip to Alaska. We have 3 children: Shawn age 39 yrs., Shari Jo age 35 yrs., and Scott age 33 yrs. Shawn and Shari are married with children. We have 5 grandchildren, 4 boys and 1 girl. We spoil them rotten.

I’m no longer a hairdresser. I quit after I no longer could perform miracles. I still enjoy bowling, reading, and gardening, as well as sewing and designing. My husband is retired from Kodak and is in construction and installing laminate and hardwood floors. I don't help with that but have always been available for those other jobs when he needs someone that knows how to use a hammer and can climb a ladder.

We have been fortunate in being able to do some traveling in the last few years. We were able to visit England and France in 1998 when our daughter and her family were living there for a year. We have also been to Hawaii, the Caribbean, Florida, and Las Vegas many times. We still live in the little farming town of Kendall, about 30 miles west of Rochester and enjoy friends, family, and neighbors. We are getting to hate the winters and if it were not for the grandchildren, we would be living in much warmer climates during the winter months.

After getting together with a few former classmates the last few years, I am looking forward to seeing more of them in our upcoming class reunion.

I did the world a favor by shortening my name from 12 letters to five and the world still screws it up by mispronouncing it anyway.

2010 Update:  Hi everyone. Since the last reunion, we have been quite busy. Our youngest son, Scott, got married to a wonderful young lady 2 years ago. They didn't want a big fancy wedding so they arranged to rent a house in the Outer Banks of No. Carolina for the immediate family, 19 of us, and got married on the beach at sunset. We were there a week and it was great. Anyone who can say that all was great with 6 kids there, with no fighting or squabbling among them for a week, was really having a wonderful time. His new wife brought with her a daughter who is now 14 years old. I now have three 14-year-old teens, and our biggest fear is that they all graduate from high school on the same day because they all go to different schools. Our oldest grandson is going to be a senior in high school this year and off to college next year.

Recently, we decided on a major renovation to our house. Our fireplace and the wall behind it are no longer there. We took it down with the help of our boys and half-grown grandsons. They did a wonderful job. We now have an open kitchen, dining room, and living room. Ron insisted on hardwood flooring throughout, although I drew the line in the kitchen. That's for another day. I still have more painting and finishing of moldings to finish but the majority is done. It will take me until Christmas to get all the cement dust cleaned out of the house. No amount of prep work could prevent that.

Ron and I are doing well. We will be celebrating 45 years of wedded bliss (oh yeah) this year. The new stuff in the house is our trip for this year. It's also Christmas, birthdays, and anniversary gifts to each other for the next 5 years. My health is ok except losing weight is a problem, but I keep trying. Ron has had knee replacement surgery and may need hip replacement sometime soon. His back bothers him a lot and he can't do as much as he used to. I guess we're getting a little old and should slow down a bit.

Hopefully, I will be able to tell you that I have even more grandchildren in the coming years. It's great fun to have babies around until it's time to send them home.

Looking forward to seeing everyone in September.
