Life's been good! On the family side, I've been married for 33 years and
have two great kids. We live in West Bloomfield, NY which is just south of
Rochester. Both my wife and I are currently retired. She was a Nurse
Administrator for an addictions treatment organization and I worked at
Kodak. My kids live in Rochester. Victoria (26) is a social work
supervisor for an organization that manages homeless shelters and Matt (31)
owns a wine store.
Career-wise I retired as an environmental engineer from Kodak. Prior to my
23 years there I worked 9 years for the NYS Dept. of Environmental
Conservation. I went to Alfred Tech, UB and RIT. My work primarily dealt
with air pollution control.
Outside of work my interests are old sports cars (I have a '63 Morgan, '54
Triumph and '97 Z3 BMW) and more recently sail-boats. We recently bought a
36 ft. Hunter sloop. I also enjoy carpentry work and have done many
projects over the years including building our home.
My wife and I are in the midst of starting a wine store in the Corn Hill
section of Rochester. It should be up and running at the end of next
summer, so our retirement will be rather short lived.
2010 Update: It's been an eventful 5 years. Our daughter, Victoria (32 years old) got married a couple of years ago and has a little blonde-haired daughter, Lana. Victoria is a social worker on the forensics unit of Rochester State Psychiatric Hospital. Her husband, Ezra, is a heating and ventilating technician and also has a blues band, "Ezra and the Storm" (check-out his website). Matt, our son (37) recently sold his wine and liquor store and is planning on going back to school.
Bev and I started our wine store in the Corn Hill neighborhood in Rochester. We ran it for 3 years and just recently sold it, so we now are both officially retired (again)!! My mother has moved out of the family home in Gasport and moved to an assisted living home in Geneseo. Matt and I just got back from a 3-month sailboat trip. We sailed from Rochester to Mexico. The boat is docked on an island on the Caribbean coast of Mexico. We plan on continuing after hurricane season.
Bev and I love being Grandma and Grandpa!!!
